NPF questions, 'Why different laws in different states on the same matter?'
Dimapur, May 18 (HS): Naga People’s Front (NPF), the opposition party in Nagaland referring Karnataka Governor''s decision to invite the largest party to form the government, today urged Governor PB Acharya to invite their party stating, “with 26 members, it was the single largest party.” NPF also questioned, “why should different laws be applied in different states on the same matter?" Karnataka Governor Vajubhai Vala’s decision to invite the BJP to form government in Karnataka as the single largest opposition party has provided enough ground to NPF. It added that in Karnataka, BJP without having the magic figure is being allowed to form the Government in the name of ‘single largest party’ whereas in Nagaland, NPF Party led by TR Zeliang was not allowed to do the same despite being the single largest political party. "Why wasn’t the NPF sworn in and given 15 days time to prove majority in the floor of the House?" questioned the communiqué issued today by the Information and Publicity Wing, Office of the Leader of Opposition Nagaland. With 26 members, it was the single largest party in Nagaland. but it was not accorded the same privilege which the BJP Party led by BS Yeddyurappa is being given in Karnataka on account of being the single largest Party, it stated. Why should different laws be applied in different states on the same matter?Governor, PB Acharya must invite Zeliang and his Party to form the Govt in Nagaland at the earliest based on the merit of the case. The same yardstick must be applied in Nagaland as in the case of Karnataka, it urged. Hindusthan Samachar/ Pradeep/ Arvind/ Shri Ram Shaw\
